Welcome to a new adventure in sharing nature with you, the readers. My basecamp is in Northwestern Montana, so most of my adventures and knowledge will be coming from this area. That won’t stop me from eagerly exploring other areas though (I really love beaches!)
What is a naturalist? Well it is both an easy and difficult question to answer. The dictionary definition is;
noun, an expert in or student of natural history.
But a better way to describe a naturalist is a person that studies nature in nature. That is how we can really study and understand things. Next time you are outside look at the whole picture. If you study the landscape around you and take that study down to the smallest petal of a wildflower, that is naturalistic learning. In nature all things are related on some level. That includes us.
