I am an early riser typically. Even when I sleep in, I still tend to be awake by 8-8:30. When you get up this early, you want to get the most out of each day.
I am fairly self-disciplined with my bedtime and a bedtime routine. The studies that talk about bedrooms only being for two purposes or that TV is bad before bed seem strong and based on studies and fact. When I wake up, I feel refreshed and restored.
The thing that might hold me back from getting the most out of my day is my patience of waiting. I will wait until 9 for people to start their day, then I will hold off until 10… 11… noon, and then I give up. I have wasted a large part of my day waiting on an adventure partner to show up.
I need to force myself to get to going and stop waiting. Believing things will change isn’t realistic. A lot of my healthiest habits came from the outdoors, habits I have neglected. The point is, I need the outdoors, solo or not.
Now it is time to formulate a plan for the winter. Come spring, I have a lot to do outside the house in preparation for summer. Summertime, the season I love, is full of time outside. This coming spring I hope to have a nice garden and grow a lot of my own food. I am not worried about going it alone. Anything to get outside.
Thanks for listening to me vent. Time is really our most valuable item. You can always make more money, but you cannot make more time. I hate wasting my time as others waste theirs and mine. The change has begun and I’m not going to be waiting anymore for people to wake up and show up. It may seem aggressive, but I think it is needed.
