Day 12: Fall Colors

One thing I really miss about being away from my Montana home this time of year is that all the fall colors really start to pop. The mountains have so many different colors to enjoy from the shrubs to the towering larches.

Around the house the leaves are falling like they should. Last year it was a soft freeze and the leaves hung on until it snowed. Spring took a lot of work to get things cleaned up.

As much as I love to be out raking leaves, I can’t this year. I am trapped away from home working. This project has no end in sight for deployments. It looks like every 3-4 months I’ll have to head to Texas with 2-3 of my coworkers.

Many people will retire, many others will resign. I wished I would have used my time to become FIRE earlier. Ideas are needed and appreciated.

This isn’t how I thought this post would go, but I just let things flow. I can’t wait to be home.
