Day 22: GoPro Timelapse

One of my favorite features of GoPro cameras is the ability to make timelapse videos. A few settings can make your videos smooth and interesting.

The key to a good timelapse is knowing how long to set an interval rate. Driving videos or cooking videos are better shot with a shorter duration. Cloud movements would be a longer duration to get the movement across the sky.

For longer duration timelapse videos, such as those of nighttime star movements, you will want to add external power to the camera.

A cool thing with GoPro timelapse videos, is that you can let the camera make the video, or you can let it take the photos and make your own video with each photo edited through Photoshop or Lightroom.

If you want to make star trail photos, the photo option can be used and all the photos can be stacked. I haven’t tried making a stacked star photo yet, but once I get home to my full editing suite, I will put it to the test.
